An Octogenarian Dead
Mrs. Margaret Gunter, died at her sons (sic) home Wm. Daniel last Sunday and 
was on Monday following, Oct. 20th 1884, burried (sic) in the town cemetery.  
Rev. N. N. Edge conducting the funeral ceremonies.  Being in her 86th year 
she was an old and respected citizen of this county.  She was a good lady 
and for a number of years a consistent member of the Baptist church.  Her 
husband served in the war of 1812 and she was consequently one of its 
pensioners.  She leaves a host of friends, relatives, children, grand 
children and great grand children who mourn her departure and who will 
forever cherish a fond rememberance (sic) of her many Christian virtures 
(sic).
"With us their names shall live
Through long succeeding years,
Embalmed with all our hearts can give
Our praises and our tears."
