Died
Mr. William H. Howard, ("Cripple Bill") died at his home near town last 
Sunday morning of congestion of the spine caused by a tree falling on him 
several years ago.  He was an old citizen of Cherokee, and at the time of 
death was 52 years old.  He had been a member of the Baptist church for many 
years.  His remains were interred in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
Mr. Howard had one or two cases in court, and because of his absence during 
the last week of court one of his bonds were forfeited.  He was then 
scarcely able to be up, but did venture out one or two days.  The cost of 
forfeiture, under the circumstances, we think, might be remitted.
