The Cherokee Advance 8 May 1884 p 3
In the Cartersville American of last week appeared quite an interesting
biographical sketch of Jno. W. Lewis, the father of Mrs. Jas. R. Brown.  Many of
our oldest citizens remember Dr. Lewis as a great and good man, preacher and
Statesman, beloved by all.  He died at this place and his remains were intered
(sic) in the Canton graveyard in June 1865.
