In Memoriam

We the committee appointed by the Hickory Flat Lodge No. 205 F. and A M make the
following preamble and resolutions.

Whereas, it has pleased an allwise and most merciful God, the Grand Architect of
the Universe, to remove from among us our much esteemed and beloved Bro, B. Lively.

Whereas it is just and proper that we as a Lodge should give some expression of
our feeling and bear testimony to his many virtues.

Resolved 1st  That in his death we have lost a worthy brother, society a useful
and much esteemed citizen, and his family circle a devoted and indulgent father. 

Resolved 2nd.  That we extend to the bereaved family of our deceased brother our
heart-felt sympathy in their sad bereavement, and in the expression of our deep
sorrow we join our submission to the will of an All wise and ever just God who
doeth all things well.

Resolved 3rd.  That this Lodge be draped in mourning, and each brother wear the
usual badge of mourning for 30 days.

Resolved 4th.  That these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the Lodge,
and a copy of the same be furnished the family of the deceased brother, also a
copy be sent to the Editor of the Cherokee Advance for publication.
