Died at his home in Salacoa Valley, in Cherokee county on Sunday last, Mr. 
Thos. Mahan, son of our esteemed friend W. _. Mahan.  He was a young man, 
about 25 years old, and in the full bloom and prime of manhood.  He was a 
young man of noble character, lived highly honored and respected, and died 
regreted. (sic) We render his bereaved parents and family our sincere 
condolence, and for solid comfort would point them to Him who is always a help 
in time of trouble.      J. G.
