Tributes of Respect
Sixes Lodge, No. 282, F. A. M. 
Agust (sic) 7th, 1886
To the worshipful Master, Wardens and Brethren:
Whereas, On the first day of August, 1886, the Great Grand Master of the 
universe, in his infinite wisdom, called from our Lodge of Labor here below 
our much respected and esteemed brother, David W. McClure, to that refreshment 
and never-ending rest awaiting the just in the Grand Lodge above; and
Whereas, The life of our departed Brother McClure, as a Christian and Mason, 
is one worthy of note and commendation; therefore be it
Resolved, That, in the death of our Brother McClure, this Lodge has lost one 
of its bright ornaments, the fraternity a zealous advocate, the community a 
young citizen with much promise of future usefulness, the church a faithful 
and consistent member, and his family a kind affectionate and loving son. 
Resolved, That this Lodge tender to his bereaved parents and relatives its 
sincere condolence and sympathy. 
Resolved, That the membership of this Lodge wear the usual badge of mourning 
for the period of thirty days.
Resolved, That this preamble and resolutions be spread upon the records of 
this Lodge, on a page set apart by the secretary for that purpose, as a 
testimony of our love and esteem for our departed brother. 
Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be furnished the family of the 
deceased; also a copy to The Cherokee Advance, with request to publish the 
same.
