The Cherokee Advance    Friday 24 Sept 1886 p 3

Sutallee, Sept. '86-On the 8th day of September, 1886, the great God of the 
universe called from this unfriendly world our much respected and esteemed 
friend, John K. Moore, to that never-ending rest awaiting the just in Heaven 
above. The life of our departed friend Moore, as a Christian, is one worthy of 
note and commendation.  In his death the church has lost one of its brightest 
ornaments and a faithful and consistent member, and the community a man who 
has led a peacable (sic) life-one that did not trouble his fellow man.  He was 
a kind, affectionate and loving father, and the church and community tender to 
his bereaved family their sincere condolence and sympathy.
