The Cherokee Advance 27 Feb 1885 p 3
A friend tells us that on the 10th inst. Rev. J. L. Olive of near Hickory Flat,
fell into the fire and died from the effects of it.  He had been suffering with
dropsy some two months or more.  He was 68 years old; had been preaching some 20
years or more; and had often been heard to say that he was ready to go when the
Master called him.  He leaves a family and many friends to mourn their loss, but
which is his eternal gain.
