Obituary Sketch

Mrs. Mary A. Patterson, whose maiden name was Grogan, was born in Paulding
county, Ga. May 3rd 1854. 

She was first married to W. R. D. Moss in 1868.  In 1866 she united with the
Canton Methodist church, Rev. W. A. Parks, preacher in charge.

She was left a widow by the death of Mr. Moss in 1874.  She was united in
marriage the second time to Mr. R. L. Patterson in 1878, living with her second
husband till by her death, the 11th of January 1883, their earthly union was
dissolved.

Mrs. Patterson left four children, all small, to experience the sad loss of a
good mother, and her bereaved husband to know by loss, the worth of a devoted
and loving wife.

She had all her neighbors for friends, and in leaving earth, she left a record
in many hearts of a true woman and pious christian.

The lonely husband and orphan children, have our deepest sympathies, and earnest
prayers, to Him who "tempereth the wind to the shorn lamb. (sic)
