A Good Man Dead.-The sad news of the death of Hon. Joshua Roberts, of Too Ny, 
reached town Wednesday morning.  He was confined to his room some four or five 
months, and on Tuesday evening at 10 o'clock he breathed his last, and his 
soul winged its flight to its home beyond.  Mr. Roberts had lived beyond his 
"three score years and ten," the greater portion of which was spent in this 
county, and many years in offices of public trust and honor.  He was for two 
or more terms Representative of Cherokee, and for several years sheriff of 
this county, and in such capacity he made an honest, faithful, able and 
conscientious officer, discharging his several duties to the best interest and 
satisfaction of those whom he represented.  He was a man universally beliked 
by all, and an honored and useful citizen of Cherokee.  About two or three 
months ago he united with the Presbyterian church at Too Ny.  He leaves a 
wife, several children, and a large host of relatives and friends to mourn his 
death.  His remains were interred at Hickory Flat last Wednesday. "Forever 
with the Lord." Amen; so let it be.
