feet touched the "chilly waters," the flowery vale, was just on the other shore.
Passed Away

On last Monday evening, about 6 o'clock, Mrs. E. M. Turk, the wife of Mr.
Theodore Turk, one of Canton's best citizens, suddenly passed from this, to a
brighter life beyond.  Her death was a most triumphant victory over man's last
enemy.  The happiest hour of a long, well spent life was, while in the embrace
of Death's cold arms.

She saw the enemy in sight, and felt her power over him, through Him who loved
her and gave himself for her. 

When she entered the dark valley--she clearly saw the light beyond.  When her 
feet touched the "chilly waters," the flowery vale, was just on the other shore. 

Mrs. Turk had lived with her dear, and now bereaved husband for fifty-one years.
 For half a century they had shared eachothers (sic) joys, and mutually divided
their sorrows. 

They had buried eight children, and the mother left but one,

  "Like a rose on the stalk,
   To tell where the garden had been."

Mrs. Turk was in her 75th year, and had been a truly pious and earnest member of
the Baptist church for about fifty-three years.

God bless and comfort her bereaved husband, who stands now as the sturdy oak in
the track of the storm, stripped of the green wreath, that had shaded the
decaying trunk.  Our deepest sympathies are with her only son and the
grandchildren and her many relations who are still "watching and waiting."
