The Cherokee Advance 27 Aug 1886 p 3
Smothered to Death--Mrs. J. A. Woodall, living near town, went to bed last 
Saturday night with her three months old babe, and, to her horror and grief, 
awoke a few hours afterward to find her babe a corpse.  No inquest was held over 
the dead baby, but, as there was no marks or bruises on it, the supposition is 
that she lay upon and suffocated it.
