The Cherokee Advance 28 Aug 1885 p 3
On Thursday, the 14th of this month, Mr. N. M. Tally, of Texas, and Miss M. J. 
Byrd, of this county, grand daughter of Capt. W. T. Mahan, of this place, were 
united in the holy estate of matrimony at the residence of the bride's mother 
in Salacoa.  They immediately left for Texas.  May they accumulate riches and 
live happily.
