A Brilliant Marriage and Elegant Reception

At the Methodist church last Wednesday evening, the "holy bonds of matrimony"
were consecrated between Mr. E. B. Holland and Miss Ida Edge-Rev. N. N. Edge
officiating.  The Ushers were Hon. B. F. Payne and Col. Jabez Galt.  

The church was handsomely decorated with swinging arches, beautifully festooned
with evergreens and orange flowers.  One large orange blossom -horse-shoe was
hanging in the centre of the altar, emblimatical (sic) of the best wishes, "good
luck" and prosperity, from the entire community for the parties. 

At 8 o'clock, the happy couple entered the door and proceeded to the altar, as
Mrs. B. Z. Dutton played the "wedding march," and the impressive ceremony by
Rev. N. N. Edge, made them husband and wife.  Mr. Holland of the firm of E. B.
Holland & Co. and of Holland & DuPreee, the polite proprietors of the McAfee
House-is one of our most respected and best business men.  His charming and
accomplished bride, daughter of Rev. N. N. Edge, Editor of this paper, is one of
our loveliest young ladies, and during her short acquaintance with our citizens,
has gathered a number of true and sincere friends. The church was filled with
our citizens and visiting friends of the contracting parties, who will join me
in wishing a long life, crowned with success, prosperity and happiness. 

The reception given at the hotel was indeed a grand affair.  There were none
present, not feeling at home.  All deciding it to be the most enjoyable occasion
of their lives. 

The table was spread with rich and rare delicacies, the music fine, amusements
attractively interesting, and everything passed pleasantly.

We all join in tendering our thanks to the bride and groom for making this
evening so pleasant. 

Mr. Editor-I have hurriedly written the above and trust you will give it space
in your columns.  In conclusion I will thank Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Holland for
their kind invitation and ask that they accept in lieu thereof the kindest
wishes of                           An Observer.
