LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF WILLIAM G. BRASELTON: I, William G. Braselton of said County being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and testament. Item the First Intending this to be my last will I hereby revoke all wills heretofore made by me. Item the Second I devise and direct that my Executor herein after named and appointed in this my last will as soon as possible after my death to pay all my just debts if there should be any such debts unpaid or standing against me at the time of my death. Item the Third I bequeath to my beloved wife Annie E. Braselton for and during her natural life for her own use and benefit my Dwelling house and lot upon which it stands situated and being in the town of Canton in said Coutny. She [is] to keep and Controll the same during her natural life this bequest to stand in lieu of her right to dower. It is further my desire and I hereby will and direct that my said wife share equal with my heirs hereinafter named in this my last will in the balance of my estate not before disposed of in this my last will. I bequeath and give to my said wife, Annie E. Braselton all of my household and kitchen furniture and any and all of the personal property that I may own at the time of my death. This I give and bequeath to her for her own use and benefit and to stand in leiu of years Support which she would be entitled to under law after my death. Item the Fourth I will and bequeath to my daughter Jane E. Withers the sum of one dollar to be paid to her by my Executor after my death out of my estate that being the amount I desire her to have out of my Estate. The remainder of my Estate to be Equally divided into seven equal shares: to my wife Annie E. Braselton one of said seven shares, to my daughter Margaret E. Petree one of said seven shares, to my daughter Juliett D. White one of said seven shares, to my daughter Mary E. White one of said seven shares, to my daughter Laura P. Hunter one of said shares she accounting to my Estate for Seventy five dollars as an advancement made by me to her, to my son James W. Braselton one of said seven shares he accounting to my estate for the sum of two hundred dollars as an advancement made by me to him, to the sons and daughters of my deceased son Amos R. Braselton the remaining one of seven said shares they accounting to my estate for the sum of Two hundred dollars as an advancement which was made by me to my said son Amos R. Braselton Before his death. There shall not be any interest accounted on either of the three advancements made by me to the three heirs named. I only desire that each one of them account for the amount I advanced to them. Item the Fifth I desire and direct that after the death of my said wife Annie E. Braselton that the dwelling house and town lot upon which said house stands be sold at public sale and the proceeds of said sale be equally divided in six parts: one sixth part to be paid to my daughter Margarett E. Petree if living at that time, if dead then to her heirs; one sixth part to be paid to my daughter Juliett E. White if living at that time, if dead than to be paid to her heirs; one sixth part to be paid to my daughter Mary E. White if living at that time, if dead then to her heirs; one sixth part to be paid to my daughter Laura P. Hunter if living at that time, if dead then to be paid to her heirs; one sixth part to be paid to my son James W. Braselton if living at that time, if dead to be paid to his heirs. The remaining one sixth part to be paid to the sons and daughters of my Deceased son Amos R. Braselton that may be living at that time. I desire and direct that my Executor herinafter named proceed as soon as practicable after my death to sell at legal public sale all of my real estate or property Except the life estate of my said wife and then to divide the proceeds of said sale in accordance with the ? before named in this my last will and that after the death of my said wife Annie E. Braselton the town lot and Dwelling house on the same be sold and the proceeds of such sale be divided in accordance with that part of this my last will. My said wife being left free to dispose of her whole estate as she may chose or think proper to do. Item the Sixth I hereby constitute and appoint my son in law Charles H. Carr Ordinary *Note, William G. Braselton was first married to Perdillia Newton Saye in Gwinett Co, GA Nov. 28, 1844. She died Aug. 23, 1889. William remarried in Cherokee Co on March 11, 1890 to Annah E. Pierce, Marriage Book F,, page 297 of Drawer 13, box 22 at the GA Archives.
