I Martha Griffin of said County and State being of advance age and knowing that I must shortly depart from the World deem it right and proper both as respects myself and my family that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind Providence has blessed me. I therefore make this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all others heretofore made by me. Item 1st I desire and direct that my gody be buried in a decent and Christian like manner in the Methodist Burying Ground near Hickory Flat in said County, my soul I trust shall return to God who gave it as I hope for Eternal salvation through the Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Item 2nd I give and devise to my children Thomas Griffin, Mitchel Griffin, Margararett McCord, William Griffin, Sarah Griffin, Nathan Griffin, & Leonard Griffin my entire interest in & lots of land no. Three Hundred & Fifty, Three Hundred & forty nine in the Second Dist. of the Second Section of Cherokee County containing Forty Acres each with all the rights, members and appartenances to said Lots of land in anywise appertaingin or belonging free from any charge or limitation whatever to their own proper use benefit and behoof with full power to dispose of said premises at any time after my death. I desire that my son Leonard Griffin have the use of said prmises rent free during my Natural Life and that he be fully exhanerated from all charges for the Rent of the said premises before & after this time. Item 3rd I give and bequeath to my son Leonard the rest of my effects whatever and whatsoever it may be forever except as is herinafter excepted. Item 4th I desire and direct that at my death that my Household & Kitchen Furniture be equally divide between my son Leonard and my daughter Sarah Epperson. Item 5gh I constitute and appoint my son leonard Griffin Executor to this my Last Will and Testament this the 29th day of January 1858.
