J. Rowe WALLACE BELL Wallace Bell, member of City Council of Athens, Georgia, from the Fifth ward, was born at Cleveland, Georgia, June 5, 1888. Mr. Bell came to Athens when he was only 15 years of age, and has been connected with various business enterprises since that time, meeting with much success. He has been active in civic affairs, and when the General Assembly of the State of Georgia passed an act at its 1922 session incorporating a large area of the western extremity of the city into the city limits and the mayor and council passed an ordinance designating this new area as the Fifth ward, providing for its representation on the council, Mr. Bell, at the solicitation of his friends, entered the race and won out over his opponent as alderman. He is chairman of several important committees from council, and is a member of others, and is devoting his time, talents and energy to the protection and advancement of the city's interests, and those of his constituents in the Fifth ward.
