ALBERT L. HOWLAND

   Born at Warren, Grafton County, New Hampshire, November 7, 1886. Went to
Greenvills, S. C., in 1905, and served as master mechanic in a large plant there
for two years. Moved to Athens in 1907, where he accepted a position as
electrical engineer and master mechanic with the Southern Manufacturing Company.

   Mr. Rowland is a prominent Odd Fellow, serving as Noble Grand of Williams
Lodge in this city several terms; Chief Patriarch of Oliver Encampment; is a
Mason, Elk, a member of Rebeckas and Knights of Oriental Splendor.

   He is now serving as a member of the Athens City Council, as alderman from
the Fifth ward.
