J. Rowe E. S. SELL E. S. Sell, head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Social Science at the State Normal School, Athens, Georgia, was born March 9, 1887, at Hoschton, Jackson County, Georgia. He prepared for college by attending Hoschton High School. Received the degree of B.S.A. from the University of Georgia in 1910. In 1918, the University of Georgia conferred upon him the Master of Science degree. After graduating from the University of Georgia, he taught school at Blythe, Richmond County, Georgia, but for the past twelve years has been connected with the State Normal School at Athens. For eleven years he was at the head of the Department of Agriculture, but in 1922 rural science was added to his department. He has contributed articles to many magazines, and is the author of an Agricultural Laboratory Manual, (published by Ginn & Company.) He is also the author of Methods of Teaching Agriculture, and a History of the State Normal School, as well as a Sketch of the State Normal School which appears in the History of Athens and Clarke County. His History of the State Normal School has been endorsed and accepted by the trustees of that institution, and will be published. He is the subject of a sketch in "Who's Who in America."
