Clarke County Deed Book K, p. 355-356

Georgia        }  This Indenture made this eighth day of January Eighteen 
hundred
Clarke County }  and seventeen Between James W Armstrong of the County of 
Hancock & State aforesaid of the one part and David Elder of the County of 
Clarke and State aforesaid of the other part.  Witnesseth that the aforesaid 
James W Armstrong for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars 
to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained 
and sold and do by these presents bargain and sell and deliver unto the said 
David Elder all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of 
Clarke and on the waters of Rose Creek Containing two hundred and fifty acres 
be the same more or less begining at a Post oak Corner and runing No. 28 E on 
Wittons line to rose Creek at a Dogwood Corner, thence down said Creek to a 
gum Corner known as Solomon Burford Corner thence So. 28 W on sd. Burfords 
line to Priors spring branch and up sd. branch on Priors line to the 
beginning.  It being part of a tract of land originally granted to Micajah 
Williamson to have and to hold the aforesaid land & premises together with all 
and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in 
any way appertaining and I the said James W Armstrong do by these presents 
bind myself to warrant and forever defend the title of sd. land for myself & 
my heirs &c. against the Claim or Claims of all and every other person or 
persons whatsoever, unto the said David Elder his heirs and assigns forever in 
fee simple.
	As witness my hand and seal the day and date above written.
