Witnesseth that we the aforesaid Micajah Benge and William Hopkins for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to us in hand paid the receipt of which is duly acknowledged before the signing and delivering of these presents hath bargained and sold and be these presents doth bargain and sell align release convey and confirm unto the said Nathan Gann all that contains a tract or parcel of land containing three hundred and sixty nine acres be the same more or less. To the butting and boundaries thereof it being granted to Horatio Marbury in the year 1785 ? butting and bounding at this time by Thomas Robert’s lines and Phillip Bailey’s and William Shaw’s and John Gann’s land lying and being in this county of Jackson and state aforesaid Situated on the Middle River of Oconee and beginning at the bank of said river on a Hickory running south 15 degrees west 40 chains to a Red Oak thence south 250 degrees west 25 chains to a pine thence north 37 degrees west 23 chains to white Oak on McNutts Creek thence north 7(8?) west 38 chains to a Chestnut thence north 50 degrees east 32 chains to a hickory thence north 30 degrees west 36 chains to a pine thence north 30 degrees east 40 chains to a gum on the river thence down the said river to the beginning to have and to hold to the said Nathan Gann his heirs and asigns To their own proper use and beehoof in fee simple with all and singular its wood, waters mines minerals and mettles rights ? profits issues emoluments ? and appertinances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining having such form and marks natural and artificial as by a plat ? to the same will more fully appear and we the aforesaid Benge and Hopkins do by these presents covenant and agree to and with the aforesaid Nathan Gann that we shall ? and defend the said three hundred and sixty nine acres of land be the same more or less as above described unto the said Gann his heirs and asigns forever free from us our heirs and executors administrators and asigns and also from all and every other person or persons laying or having any just rights right claims or title thereunto or any part thereof and in testimony of the lawfulness of this deed of conveyance we have hereunto set or names and afixed our seals this day and year first above written Signed Sealed and Acknowledged in M Benge Presence of Wm Hopkins A Bentston Joseph Clarkson David Shay Recorded this 14th April 1803 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/clarke/deeds/benge732gdd.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 3.6 Kb
