All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Wesley Gann http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00025.html#0006068 February 19, 2007, 3:17 pm Deed Book Written: 1861 Aley Gann To Freeman Westmoreland October 29,1861 Book Y, page 365 Clarke County, GA Georgia, Clark County This indenture made this the 29th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eighteen hundred and sixty one between Aley Gann of the county of Clark and state of Georgia, on the one part, and Freeman Westmoreland of the county and state aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Aley Gann for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars to her in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and do hereby these presents grant, bargain sell and convey unto the said Freeman Westmoreland his heirs and assigns, all the tract or parcel of land on the Waters of Middle Branch of Oconee River Bounded as follows. On the west by land of Aley Gann on the north by said Middle River, on the east by land of Dolly Gann and David Gann and on the south by lands of Joseph Lee, to being a part of lands formerly owned by M. Gorvain containing seventy acres more or less. Beginning at a hickory corner at the river southeast to a rock thence to a pine thence S.E. to a rock thence north to a white oak thence North East to the River the likes being the line to the beginning corner. To have and to hold such tract or parcel of land unto him the said Freeman Westmoreland his heirs and assigns, together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof, to the same in any manner belonging to his and their ___________ hence fit and behoof forever, in fee simple. And the said Aley Gann for herself, her heirs executors and administrators, the said bargained premises unto the said Freeman Westmoreland his heirs and assigns, and do warrant and forever defend, the right and title thereof, against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatever.
