                         In consideration of the sum of five hundred ($500.00) 
                    to it in hand paid the National Building and Loan
Association of Montgomery Alabama (a corporation organized and existing under
the laws of the state of Alabama) does hereby sell and convey unto W.G. Gann of
the County of Clarke and the State of Georgia his heirs and assigns a tract or
parcel of which is divided as follows:
That certain lot or parcel of land lying and being in Clark County, State of
Georgia, in the city of Athens, beginning at the southeast intersection of
Bailey and Vineyard Streets and running thence east along the south margin of
said Vineyard Street 420 feet, thence south 190 feet, thence west parallel with
said Vineyard Street 420 feet, thence North along the east margin of Bailey
Street 190 feet to the beginning corner.  Said property is bounded on the north
by Vineyard Street, East by Bailey’s land, on the South by land of Howard, and
on the West by Bailey Street.
To have and to hold said land and it’s appurtenances unto said W.G. Gann his
heirs and assigns, executors and administrators, in Fee Simple: 
Said National Building and Loan Association does warrant the title to said land
against the lawful claims of all persons. In witness whereof said National
Building and Loan Association has caused this conveyance to be executed in its
own name by it’s Vice President, and attested by it’s Secretary, under it’s
corporate seal, on this the 20th day of December, 1902. Signed, Sealed and
