Georgia             }  This Indenture made this eighth day
Clarke  County }  of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred 
and twenty five between William Maddox of the County & State aforesaid of the 
one part and John White of the same place of the other part, Witnesseth that 
the said William Maddox for and in consideration of the Sum of Four Hundred 
Dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these 
presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold 
and conveyed and do by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the 
said John White his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of Land Situate 
lying and being in the County aforesaid in the Five Thousand acre tract in said 
County on Sandy Creek Granted to the trustees of the University of Georgia and 
Known & distinguished on said survey by number twenty seven (27) Containing One 
Hundred acres be the same more or less -  To have & to hold the said tract or 
parcel of Land unto him the said John White his heirs and assigns together with 
all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereof to the same in 
any manner belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever 
in fee simple --  And the said William Maddox for himself his heirs Executors 
and administrators the Said bargained premises unto the said John White his 
heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof 
against themselves & against the claim of all other persons whatsoever ---
   In Witness whereof the said William Maddox hath hereunto set his hand and 
seal the day &year above written.

Georgia          }  Martha Maddox, wife of the within named William 
Clarke County}  Maddox did this day appear before me, and being privately & 
separate and apart from her said Husband Examined by me did declare that she 
truly voluntarily and without any compulsion dread or fear of any person 
whatsoever renounced released and forever relinquished unto the said John White 
his heirs and assigns all her interest & estate, and also all her right and 
Claim of Dower of in and to all and Singular the premises mentioned in the 
within Deed –
    In witness whereof the said Martha Maddox hath hereunto set her hand and 
seal to these presents this Eighth day of June One Thousand eight hundred and 
Twenty five
