All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ben McLaughlin noranben@aol.com February 7, 2003, 6:40 pm Not stated Written: February 1 1803 Recorded: June 6 1804 Clarke County, Georgia Deed Book A, 1802-1804, pps. 278-279 State of Georgia This Indenture made this first day of February eighteen hundred and three between John McLaughlin of the County of Warren and the State aforesaid of the one part and James Gray of the County of Clark (sic) and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John McLaughlin for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the same James (sic) or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt is hereby acknowledged hath granted and sold unto the said James Gray his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of deeds containing one hundred and thirty six acres beginning at a (unreadable) oak corner thence North forty five chains to a corner pine thence West fifty four chains to a corner hickory thence South to Jacob deedser's old line thence on said line South sixty five (sic) East to a corner black oak thence South twenty five (sic) West to a corner stake on deedser's line thence East to the beginning situate lying and being in the County of Clark and waters of Rose Creek and adjoining said deedser's deeds granted to Reuben Banks together with all and singular the rights members & appurtenances there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining thereinto To have and to hold the said tract of deeds with all and singular the appurtenances belonging to the said James Gray his heirs and assigns forever and the said John McLaughlin the said tract or parcel of deeds unto the said James Gray his heirs and assigns will warrant and defend against himself and his heirs & every person or persons in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day & year first above written.
