State of Georgia, Clarke County.
    This Indenture, made and entered into this 19th day of March in the year of 
our Lord One thousand Nine Hundred and Thirteen between John J. Wilkins of the 
County of Clarke and State of Georgia of the first part, and Howell C. Erwin of 
the County of Clarke and State of Georgia of the second part;  
    Witnesseth, that the said John J. Wilkins for and in consideration of the 
sum of Four Thousand Seven Hundred sixty-eight & 20/100 Dollars in hand paid, 
at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof 
is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold, aliened, conveyed and 
confirmed, and by these presents does grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and 
confirm unto the said Howell C. Erwin his heirs and assigns, all the following 
described property, to-wit:  Three certain tracts of land lying and being part 
of the old John Mitchell place and more fully described as follows:
     Beginning at a point on Little Sandy Creek where land herein described 
joins that of H. C. Erwin, and running thence S. 26 ½ E. along the line of 
Erwin and Parks 2158 feet to a corner on spring branch thence down meanderings 
of said spring branch 850 feet to land of H. C. Erwin; thence along the line of 
Erwin and an old plantation road as follows:  N. 10 W 200 feet, N 21 ½ W 182 
feet, N. 12 W. 414 feet, N 24 ¾ W 468 feet N. 6 ¾ W 105 feet N 41½ E. 145 feet 
N 17 ¼ W 350 feet to the ford of Little Sandy Creek thence up the meanderings 
of Little Sandy Creek to beginning point Said tract containing 278 32/100 acres 
and same being Lot no. 4 of B. H. Barrow’s survey of the J. J. Wilkins 
property. – 2.   17& 24/100 acres off of the northern end of lot no. 3 of said 
Barrow’s survey which is described as follows:  Beginning at the ford of Little 
Sandy Creek where said Lot no. 3 joins lot no. 4 and running down the 
meanderings of Little Sandy Creek to junction with Big Sandy Creek, thence down 
the meanderings of Big Sandy Creek to the line of H. C. Erwin, coming near a 
bridge on Big Sandy Creek thence S. 89 E. along the line of Erwin 1000 feet to 
a point on old plantation road, thence along said road as follows:  N. 12 W. 
130 feet N. 24 ¾ W 468 feet, N 6 ¾ W 105 feet, N. 41 ½ E 145 feet, N 17 ¼ W. 
350 feet to the beginning point = 3.  114 & 38/100 acres off of the west end of 
lot no. 5, which is particularly described as follows:  Beginning at a point 
where Little Sandy Creek empties into Big Sandy Creek, and running up the 
meanderings of said Big Sandy Creek to the line of lot no. 6 of same survey 
thence N. 63 ½ E 1550 feet along the Southern border of said lot no. 6 to the 
line of Wilkins thence S. 25 E. 2100 feet to a point on Little Sandy Creek; 
thence down the meanderings of said Little Sandy Creek to its mouth.
    To Have and To Hold, the said above granted and described property, with 
all and singular, the rights, members and appurtenances thereunto appertaining, 
to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of him the said Howell C. Erwin his 
heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, in Fee Simple; and the said 
bargained property unto the said John J. Wilkins the said bargained property 
unto the said Howell C. Erwin, his heirs, executors, administrators and 
assigns, against the said John J. Wilkins, his heirs, executors, administrators 
and assigns and against all and every other person or persons, shall and will 
and does hereby warrant and forever defend by virtue of these presents.
    In Witness Whereof, the said John J. Wilkins has hereunto set his hand, and 
affixed his seal and delivered these presents the day and year first above 
written.
