All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Jimmie Boyett Georgia Table of Contents: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm CLARKE COUNTY, GA DEED BOOK CC, PAGE 394 RANDOLPH TOWNS to PITTARD & JOHNSON, January 12, 1879 SURNAMES: Towns, Pittard, Johnson, Harris, Tuck State of Georgia Clarke County This Indenture made this the 12th day of January in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and Seventy five between Randolph Towns of the County and Sate aforesaid of the one part and Pittard & Johnson of the County of Oglethorpe and State of Georgia of the other part witnesseth, That the said Randolph Towns for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these present, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold aliened and conveyed and by these present doth grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm with the said Pittard & Johnson their heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Clarke and State of Georgia, on the south side of the Athens Branch Georgia RailRoad, and half a mile above the Winterville Post Office, and Depot, containing six acres more or less. Beginning at a rock, and running S32½ W six (6) chains to a rock, thence S46¼ East ten (10) chains to a rock, thence N32½, East six chains to a rock, thence N46¼ West ten chains toa rock, the beginning corner. To have and to Hold said tract or parcel of land unto the said Pittard & Johnson, their heirs and assigns together with all and singular, the rights members and appurtenances there of to the same in any manner belonging to their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in Fee Simple. And the said Randolph Towns for himself his heirs Executors & administrators, the said bargained premises unto the said Pittard & Johnson, their heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatever.
