Many of them were unable to return after the close of the war, and it is but fitting that they should now receive this recognition of the appreciation of the University and of the State, for their unselfish sacrifices in the times of need. In placing their names on the roll of her distinguished Alumni, the University honors herself and pays a fitting tribute to some of her most loyal sons.
