W. A. (ALMA) ALMAND Banner, Athens, GA, Tuesday, March 24, 1981 Transcribed by Connie Epps Bond July 7, 2007 Mrs. Almand Mrs. W. A. (Alma) Almand, 90, 860 Hawthorne Ave., formerly of Alma, died today. A native of Conyers, she was a daughter of the late Augustus H. and Annie Maude Wingate Brooks. She had lived in Athens for the past year and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in East View Cemetery, Conyers, with the Rev. Scott Walker officiating. Survivors include two daughters Mrs. W R (Elizabeth) Alexander, Athens, and Mrs. Cy (Nell) Cobb, Anniston, Ala; five sons, J. B. Almand, San Diego, Calif., R. H. Almand, San Anonio, Texas, W. P. Almand, DeLeon Springs, Fla., E. F. Almand, Lee, Fla., and C. H. Almand, Atlanta; a brother M. A. Brooks Sr., Atlanta, 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family is at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Alexander, 180 Valley Road.
