A native of Fulton County, Mr. Chandler was a son of the late Edwin and Cleo Anglin Chandler and the widower of Louise Harper Chandler. He was a Navy veteran and the retired owner-operator of Seaboard Lumber Co. He was a member of the Yaarab Shrine, the Masons, the VFW and Lavonia Presbyterian Church. A native of Banks County, the Rev. Chalmers was a son of the late Floyd G. and Hattie Barton Jordan and the widower of Wille Segars Jordan. He served in a number churches as minister and was a gospel songwriter. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Rachel H. Latimer Athens Rachel Hawkins Latimer, 85, of 185 Shadybrook Drive died Sunday, Dec. 31, 1996. A native of Alabama City, Ala., Mrs. Latimer was a daughter of the late Harry N. and Mary Frances Herring Joiner and the widow of Vasco Walter Hawkins and Comer Fulcher Latimer. She was the owner of Rachel's Beauty Salon in Comer and was involved in the American Heart Association, where she was a former Heart Fund chairwoman for Madison County. She was a member of Comer Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as president of the Women's Society of Christian Service.
