Lee Hartwell Martha Sue Layson Lee, 63, of 84 Oak Mountain Lane died Friday, Nov. 1, 1996. A native of Monticello, Mrs. Lee was a daughter of the late Seals and Lila Layson. She was a widow of James Edward Lee. She was a retired secretary for attorney Joseph Skeleton. She was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church, where she taught the Dorcus Sunday school class. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Revs. Ray Black, Lyndon Westmoreland, Billy Owensby and David Speering officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Pattie Johnson, Jefferson; two sons, Robert Edward "Bobby" Lee, Lavonia, and James Allen "Jimmy" Lee, Hartwell; a brother, Allen Layson, Columbia, S.C.; a sister, Gail Speering, Collinsville, Va.; and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home. The family is at the home. Floyd J. Lord Elberton Floyd J. Lord, 71, of 1593 Bowman Highway died Saturday, Nov. 2, 1996. A native of Jackson County, Mr. Lord was a son of the late Garnett and Marvalee Lord. He was a retired Independent Life Insurance agent. He was a member of Dewy Rose Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce. Survivors include his wife, Maliece Martin Lord; a daughter, Jennefer Vaughn, Bowersville; two sons, James Lord and Steve Lord, both of Elberton; and six grandchildren. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Foster C. Pruitt Watkinsville Foster C. "Bo" Pruitt, 63, of 1200 Wildcat Ridge Road died Saturday, Nov. 2, 1996. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Pruitt was a son of the late Rufus P. and Vera Cooper Pruitt. He was the retired owner of F.C. Pruitt and Son Plumbing Co. He was a member of Friendship Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oconee Memorial Park with the Rev. Jane Brooks officiating. Survivors include his wife, Sue F. Pruitt; a daughter, Rhonda Wilkinson, Watkinsville; a son, Glenn Pruitt, Watkinsville; a brother, Harold Pruitt, Athens; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Crowell Athens Mary Linn Crowell, 55, of 175 Red Fox Run died Thursday, Oct. 31, 1996. A native of Salina, Kan., Mrs. Crowell was a daughter of Ottis and Elanor Scott. She graduated with a bachelor's degreee from Colorado State University and a master's degree from the University of Georgia. She was employed by the Clarke County School System as food services director. She was a licensed dietitian and a member of the Georgia Food Services Association, the American School Food Services Association and was on the board of the Clarke County chapter of the American Heart Association. She was a member and elder of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Jim Bowden officiating. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Crowell; a daughter, Cheryl Linn Devaney, Atlanta; and a son, Dr. Scott Crowell, Tampa, Fla.
