A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Fleming was a daughter of the late Charlie C. and Jesse Roberta Wilhite Webb and the widow of Buford Fleming. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wenona F. Rice. She was a homemaker and a member of the Joy Club and Doves Creek Baptist Church, Elberton, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the Woman's Missionary Union. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church with Dr. Marshall Tribble officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church, Athens Highway, Elberton, 30635. Julian O. Colquitt Lithonia Julian O. Colquitt, 75, died Monday, Dec. 2, 1996. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Colquitt was a son of the late John M. and Annie Bugg Colquitt. An Army veteran of World War II, he was the former regional director for the U.S. Department of Labor and the assistant director of the Georgia Department of Labor. He was a member of Lithonia First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Henry Funeral Home with Dr. Lawrence F. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Hillandale Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Whitehead Colquitt; a son, Julian O. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Clyde Crawford Toccoa Clyde C. Crawford, 86, of Mize Road, Route 1, died Monday, Dec. 2, 1996. A native of Stephens County, Mr. Crawford was a son of the late Plomer E. and Emma Lee Purcell Crawford. He was retired from WABCO Co. and was a member of Woodmen of the World, The Monday Morning Coffee Club and First United Methodist Church of Toccoa, where he was member of the Curtis Sunday School Class. 'Winnie' Howard Fort Valley Winifred Alice "Winnie" Howard, 62, of Route 1, Box 1210, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 1996. A native of Plains, Miss Howard was a daughter of the late John W. and Winifred Amanda Fowler Howard. She attended Randolph Macon Woman's College, Lynchburg, Va. and earned a bachelor's of science degree in inorganic chemistry from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was a medical research chemist at the University of Texas Southwestern medical school and a environmental scientist/chemist for the U.S. Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy. She was also a pilot and a member of the "The Ninety Nine" Woman's Pilot Club and Crystal Cathedral, Garden Grove, Calif. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home Chapel, Perry, with Dr. John Bagwell officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Methodist Church, Athens. A retired textile management supervisor, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ramona Leigh Watson, and was of the Baptist faith. James H. Hampton Jr. Colbert James Hiram Hampton Jr., 62, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 1996. A native of Gainesville, Mr. Hampton was a son of the late Martha Fleeman and J. Hiram Hampton Sr. He was a graduate of Colbert High School and the University of Georgia, class of 1955. He was a member of Alpha Zeta Honorary Fraternity and the Scabbard and Blade. He was retired from the Army and Gainesville Milling and Colbert Seed. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the Board of Deacons. Latimer Athens Rachel Hawkins Latimer, 85, of 651 Rhodes Drive died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1996. A native of Alabama City, Ala., Mrs. Latimer was a daughter of the late Harry N. and Mary Frances Herring Joiner and the widow of Vasco Walter Hawkins and Comer Fulcher Latimer. She was the owner of Rachel's Beauty Salon in Comer and was involved in the Heart Association, where she was a former Heart Fund chairwoman for Madison County. She was a member of Comer Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as president of the Women's Society of Christian Service.
