'Ruth' Johnson, Statham Annie "Ruth" Johnson, 86, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 1996. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Sam V. and Annie Doggett Michael. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Winder, with the Rev. Willis Lumpkin and Dr. David Presley officiating. Burial was in Hebron Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, James S. Johnson, Statham, Thomas E. Johnson, Athens, and Billy Johnson, Winder; two daughters, Faye Casper, Snellville, and Hazel Watkins, Statham; two sisters, Oliva Michael, Bogart, and Louzelle Lassiter, Athens; 20 grandc hildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Waneta E. Hudlow, Bethlehem Waneta England Hudlow, 73, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 1996. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Hudlow was a daughter of the late Stark and Oner H. Hunter. She was a member of Chapel Christian Church. She was married to the late R.J. England. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home chapel, Winder, with the Revs. Jim Stephens and Tom Vanlandingham officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Christian Church cemetery. Survivors include her husband, H.G. Hudlow Sr.; a daughter, Sandra Alred, Bethlehem; a sister, Mayetta Roberts, Winder; and two grandchildren. 11 Edward Mae Stephens, Watkinsville Edward Mae Stephens, of Colham Ferry Road, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 1996. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Stephens was the daughter of the late Ed and Mattie Cora Griffin Evans and widow of Hosie Stephens Sr. She was a member of Salem A.M.E. Church where she was secretary for about 50 years. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Salem A.M.E. Church with the Revs. Sarah Billups and J.L. Nunnally officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Survivors include a daughter, Annie Bell Jones, Athens; a son, Hosie Stephens Jr., Athens; four sisters, Iris Fambrough and Comonetta Watson, both of Athens, and Ruth Elder and Clara Evans, both of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Annie Bell Jones, 415 Martin Circle, Athens. Winfrey's Mutual Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
