Witcher, 77, of 415 Helican Springs Road, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 1996. A native of Madison County, Mr. Witcher was a member of Fairplay Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fairplay Baptist Church with the Rev. David Stanley Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Pallbearers are asked to report to the church at 1:30 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Mae T. Witcher; two daughters, Brendia Peterkin, Athens, and Michelle Brooks, Jacksonville, Fla.; five sons, Robert Witcher, David Witcher, Dwight Witcher Sr., James Witcher Jr. and Johnny R. James Anderson Watkinsville James T. Anderson, 78, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 1996. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Anderson was a son of the late Cleveland T. and Mae Aiken Anderson. He was a retired mechanic with Anderson Rebuilders, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Watkinsville First Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Arthur Bowick's Oconee Chapel with the Rev. Byron Wells officiating. Burial will be in Watkinsville City Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Fitzpatrick Anderson; a daughter, Joan Mann, Watkinsville; a son, Eddie Anderson, Watkinsville; a brother, Bruce Anderson, Watkinsville; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Gladys Lanpher Watkinsville Gladys W. Lanpher, 84, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 1996. A native of Fredericktown, Mo., Mrs. Lanpher was a daughter of the late William T. and Anna Cox Williams and the widow of Archie Chappelle and Joseph Lanpher. She was a retired from the Missouri state Mental Health Department and was a member of Farmington First Baptist Church in Missouri. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, Farmington, with the Rev. Harold Myers officiating. Burial will be in Hillview Memorial Garden, Farmington. Survivors include a son, Jerry Chappelle, Watkinsville; a stepdaughter, Martha Ann Morris, Jackson, Miss.; two stepsons, Thomas Lanpher, Kansas City, Mo., and Paul Lanpher, Clarence, Mo.; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Arthur Bowick's Oconee Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Helen Chapman Crawfordville Helen Steed Chapman, 84, of 120 Park St., died Sunday, Oct. 6, 1996. A native of Taliaferro County, Mrs. Chapman was a daughter of the late Rev. George C. and Jennie Williams Steed and the widow of Walter O. Chapman. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Steed Chapman. A graduate of the University of Georgia and Georgia College, she taught school in Taliaferro and Greene counties for 40 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Crawfordville Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Crawfordville Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Waters officiating. Burial will be in Crawfordville Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Survivors include two sons, Terry Chapman, Fairburn, and William C. Chapman, Crawfordville; two daughters, Jane B. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Crider was a daughter of the late Frank and Nora Crawford Manley and the widow of Earnest Crider. She was preceded in death by a son, Arnold Crider, and a brother, William "Bud" Manley. She was a retired textile worker and a member of the Franklin County Golden Agers. She was of the Church of God faith. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Weldon Funeral Home with the Revs. Curtis Gilstrap and Willard Fitzpatrick, and Jay McCollum and LaDonna Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Survivors include two daughters, Mary McCollum, Clarksville, and LaNora Andrews, Lavonia; three sisters, Bertie Smith, Dorothy Gentry and Francis Vaughn, all of Lavonia; an aunt; and nieces and nephews. Lois Walters Lavonia Lois Woodward Walters, 97, of 406 North Fairview Road, died Monday, Oct. 7, 1996. Mrs. Walters was a daughter of the late Wickcliff and Nora Davis Woodward and the widow of Truael G. Walters. She was a homemaker and a member of Lavonia United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lavonia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Shelia Bookout officiating. Burial will be in Lavonia City Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Francis Walters, Mary Clayton and Julia Rhino, all of Lavonia; a sister, Ruby Ogletree, Buford; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Frank Martin Faulkner, 55, of 5352 U.S. Highway 431 North, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 1996. A native of Athens, Mr. Faulkner was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Faulkner of Carrollton. He operated portable building businesses in Carrollton and Dothan, Ala. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Juanita Fambro Faulkner, Dothan; a daughter, Myrna Rose Faulkner, Dothan; five sons, Tracy Faulkner, Mark Faulkner, Kerry Faulkner, Danny Faulkner and Marty Faulkner, all of Dothan; two brothers, Richard Faulkner, Dublin, Ga., and Garnet Faulkner, Bowden; a sister, Caron Faulkner, Villa Rica; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at Byrd Funeral Home, Dothan. The family requests that flowers be omitted. Billy Sims Statham Billy Sims, 80, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 1996. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Sims was a son of the late John Clarence and Muzette McElroy. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Skaggs. He was a member of Hebron Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Smith Memory Chapel with the Revs. George Secrist, Eric Frazier and David Presley officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
