A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Watson was a daughter of the late Sylvester and Nancy Elder. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, Athens, with Will Stewart Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Baptist Church cemetery, Farmington. Survivors include four daughters, Betty Willoughby, Mertis West and Barbara Harris, all of Watkinsville, and Margaret Mack, Athens; a son, Arthur Watson, Watkinsville; two sisters, Fannie Cunningham and Pauline Handy, both of Athens; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Marlene Bennett Baldwin Marlene Pritchett Bennett, 55, of 926 Harmony Church Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996. A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Bennett was a daughter of Francine and Homer McDonald of Baldwin and the late Swayne Pritchett. She was a bookkeeper for Pritchett Tire and Alignment Center, Baldwin. She was a member of Cornelia Christian Church, where she was treasurer of missions and a Sunday school teacher. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cornelia Christian Church with David Terrell officiating. Burial will be in the Leatherwood Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband, Charles Bennett; two sons, Chuck Bennett and Jonathan Bennett, both of Baldwin; a daughter, Tamora Black, Clarkesville; three brothers, Harold Pritchett, C.L. Pritchett and Douglas McDonald, all of Baldwin; and two grandsons. Mary Lucille Ervin Buford Mary Lucille Ervin, 52, of 5459 Rolling Oaks Lane, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1996. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Ervin was a daughter of the late Webster and Ruth Venable Wood. She was the widow of Ernest E. Ervin. She was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery. Belah Pinson Lenoir, N.C. Belah Sadler Pinson, 98, formerly of Hartwell, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Pinson was a daughter of the late John Cornelius and Coretta Soot Sadler and the widow of Claude Andrew Pinson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wylana Pinson, a son, Elwood Pinson, three brothers and three sisters. She was a homemaker and a member of College Avenue Baptist Church, Lenoir, N.C. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Black officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Donald Shelton Danielsville Donald Lee Shelton, 48, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Shelton was a son of Helen Shelton, Athens, and the late Willis M. Shelton. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in Thailand. He owned and operated his own business as well as coaching Little League. He was a member of Athens Bible Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Bridges Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Buhl Cumming officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors in addition to his mother include a daughter, Lori Ford, Athens; four sons, Chris Shelton, Michael Addington, Todd Marchman and Troy Marchman, all of Athens; two sisters, Doris Tolbert, Athens, and Faye Baker, Bishop; a brother, William Shelton, Athens; and four grandchildren. Ruth Mathews Danburg Ruth Reed Mathews, 93, of 6022 Danburg Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1996. A native of Morgan, Ohio, Mrs. Mathews was a daughter of the late Charles V. and Lizzie Lochary Reed and the widow of Walter C. Mathews. She was a retired secretary with Yellow Cab Co., Atlanta. She was a member of Eastern Star and Danburg Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Danburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Ficklen Guin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Survivors include a son, Earnest Cathey, Danburg; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. Elizabeth Monfort Greensboro Elizabeth Reid Monfort, 92, of 401 N. East St., died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996. A native of Greene County, Miss Monfort was a daughter of the late Clarence Eugene Monfort and Carrie Reid Monfort. She was retired after more than 30 years teaching in the Greene County school system. She was a founding member of the Greene County Historical Society, a charter member of the Greensboro Garden Club, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a graduate of the University of Georgia and was a civic leader active in community affairs. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Greensboro City Cemetery with the Rev. David Sandridge officiating. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Rubye Bray Lexington Rubye E. Bray, 77, of Route 2, Box 2058, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Bray was a daughter of the late J.T. and Molly Elizabeth Johnson Haynes and widow of Chandler W. Bray. She was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church.
