A native of Hart County, Mr. Lewis was a son of the late Hubert W. and Sallie E. Poole Lewis and widower of Annie V. Fleming Lewis. He was a graduate of the Automobile College of Nashville, Tenn., and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired farmer and loom fixer for Hartwell Mills.
