Etheleen Adams, 70, of 656 Center St. died Sunday, Dec. 8, 1996. A native of Maysville, Mrs. Adams was a daughter of the late Ellis Eugene and Ana Mae Garrison Bolton. She was employed by Stanley Judd Co. and Cytec in Wallingford. She was a member of Wallingford Emergency Shelter, Ladies Guild, The Rose Arbor and First Baptist Church of Wallingford, where she was a deaconess. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel, Commerce, with the Rev. William Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce. Survivors include three daughters, Janice Nerbonne, South Meriden, Conn., and Linda Whitehouse and Susan Pierloni, both of Wallingford; a brother, George Bolton, Maysville; three sisters, Elizabeth Evans and Geraldine Adams, both of Commerce, and Annie L. Deedie Turner, Maysville; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Carrie D. Bender Lavonia Carrie Denise Bender, 21, of 56 Riverview Court died Friday, Dec. 13, 1996. A native of Barrow County, Miss Bender was a daughter of Richard and Susan McElhannon Bender of Lavonia, She was a graduate of Stephens County High School, attended North Georgia Technical Institute and was a member of Winder First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Whitlock Mortuary Chapel, Toccoa, with the Rev. Fred Young officiating. Burial will be in Roselane Cemetery, Toccoa. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include a brother, Brad Bender, Lavonia; four grandparents, Jack and Mary Marlow McElhannon, both of Lavonia, and Bob and Pam Emmons, both of Maysville; and aunts and uncles. The family is at the residence and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the mortuary. Doris C. Clark Hartwell Doris Carter Clark, 59, of 381 Zion CME Church Road died Thursday, Dec. 12, 1996. A native of Hart County, Mrs. Clark was a daughter of the late Thomas and Fannie Carter. She was a member of Zion CME Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church with the Rev. Vanessa Burns officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Kitchens was a daughter of the late Lomas and Mattie Toole Clarke and the widow of Johnny Brooks and John Henry Kitchens. She was retired from Chicopee Mills and was a member of Christian Life Fellowship. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at the church with the Rev. Douglas Hammond officiating. Rampey Elberton Ruby Blackmon Rampey, 91, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996. A native of Wilkes County, Mrs. Rampey was a daughter of the late Joseph Elizah and Georgia Pullen Blackmon and the widow of Denver L. Rampey Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of Independent Methodist Church of Tignall. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Berry Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dana Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Lee Rampey, Elberton; a sister, Allene Graham, Warner Robins; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Memorials may be made to the church. George Sherrer Athens George Sherrer, 78, of 415-A Chase St. died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Sherrer was a son of the late Frances Pierce and George Sherrer Sr. He was retired from the New York City Water Department. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Stephens, with the Rev. Calvin Turner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Finch Sherrer; a niece, Charlene Latimer; and nieces and nephews. Watts Funeral Home, Union Point, is in charge of arrangements. Louis C. Stewart Union Point Louis Clayton Stewart, 81, of 803 Dolvin Ave. died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996. A native of Union Point, Mr. Stewart was a son of the late Alvin and Lillian Lunceford Stewart. He finished junior college at Mercer University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Georgia. He was the retired owner of Stewart Oil Co. and was a director of the Farmer's Bank. He had been treasurer of Union Point Church and president of the church's brotherhood, as well as treasurer and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Union Point. He served as president of the Union Point Lions Club, zone chairman for Lions International and first chairman of the Greene County Cattle Improvement Association. He was a member of the board of Greene County Hospital Authority and the Greene County Board of Education. Graveside services were Friday in Greenlawn Cemetery with the Revs. David Key and Alvin Taylor officiating. Survivors include his wife, Martha Dean Stewart; three daughters, Barbara Norris and Peggy English, both of Union Point, and Becky Wilkes, Watkinsville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
