Durden Milledgeville Raymond Jordon Durden, 68, died Friday, Oct. 11, 1996. A native of Washington County, Mr. Durden was a retired employee of the state of Georgia and worked as a deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Hardwick Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Orr officiating. Burial will be in West View Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mary Usery Durden; a son, James Wallace Durden, Athens; a daughter, Betty Jean Riner, McIntyre; a brother, Byron Garrett, Columbus; a sister, Clara Wagnor, Milledgeville; and a grandson. Jeanette D. Mixon Athens Jeanette Dubberly Mixon, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996. A native of Appling County, Mrs. Mixon was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Swain Funeral Home, Baxley. Burial will be in Omega Cemetery. Dubberly, Daytona Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mary R. Hall Commerce Mary Ruth Hall, 70, of Route 4, Box 191, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Hall was a daughter of the late Leatus and Mary Belle Chasteen Wilson. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Mary G. Ruark Watkinsville Mary Guthery Ruark, 89, of N. High Scholas Road died Friday, Oct. 11, 1996. A native of Athens, Tenn., Mrs. Ruark was a daughter of the late Walter and Keturan Hutsell Guthery. and the widow of the Rev. Emory L. Ruark. She was preceded in death by a stepson, E. Kelley Ruark. She lived most of her life in Madison and was active in church work, serving as a pianist, a Sunday School teacher and a youth leader. For several years she presented weekly programs in the nursing home in Madison. She also volunteered for many other community affairs. She was a homemaker and a member of Madison Church of God. Ida Mae S. Jones Hartwell Ida Mae Sims Jones, 44, of 103 Hardy St. died Friday, Oct. 11, 1996. A native of Anderson County, S.C., Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Leonard and Ida Willey Sims and the widow of George W. Jones. She was a member of New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church with the Rev. T.L. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Power was a daughter of the late Henry and Pinky Jane Drake Moore and the widow of Thomas Dewey Power. She was a homemaker. Tate Bowman Buford Ray Tate, 66, of 2216 Nick Valley Road died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Tate was a son of the late Henry and Fannie Madden Tate. He was retired from the textile industry, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a Baptist. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home, Elberton, with the Revs. Mike Sullivan and Jack Brison officiating. Burial will be in Vesta Cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Michael Ray Tate and Ricky Vernon Tate, both of Bowman; a sister, Mattie T. Pridgeon Jr., 72, of 318 Lanham Circle, formerly of Athens, died Friday, Oct. 11, 1996. A native of Spartanburg, Mr. Pridgeon was a son of the late Hal L. Pridgeon Sr. and Ruby Crocker Pridgeon. He was an honors graduate of Clemson University and the founder and owner of Pridgeon Associates, an architectural engineering firm in Spartanburg. He served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Funeral services were Sunday at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, Spartanburg, with the Revs. Thurman W. Anderson Jr. and Daniel A. Morrison Jr. officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Kimbrel, 64, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996. A native of Gwinnett County, Mr. Kimbrel was a former fire chief of the city of Lawrenceville and was retired from the Lawrenceville Gas Department. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Prospect United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Wages Oak Lawn Chapel, Lawrenceville, with the Rev. William C. Goodwin Canon William Charlie Goodwin, 69, of 55 Kotal Road died Sunday, Oct. 13, 1996. A native of Franklin County, Mr. Goodwin was a son of the late Arthur and Etta Hill Goodwin and the widower of Frances Elizabeth Chitwood Goodwin. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Goodwin. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Paul Creason officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens North.
