Alford Spartanburg, S.C. Marjorie Minter Alford, 80, of 114 Overbrook Circle, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1996. A native of Laurens, S.C., Mrs. Alford was a daughter of the late Edward Perrin and Lillian Gelder Minter and widow of Benjamin C. Alford Jr. She was a homemaker and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Northview Cemetery, Hartwell, with the Rev. Amos Workman officiating. Burial will be in Northview Cemetery, Hartwell. Survivors include a son, Benjamin Calloway Alford, Spartanburg, S.C. Minnie Johnson Royston Minnie Winn Johnson, 100, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1996. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Johnson was a daughter of the late Charles Vandiver and Laura Hilley Winn and widow of Curtis T. Johnson. She was a retired sales representative for Avon and Gallant Belk Co. She was a member of Bowman Baptist Church, the WSCS and a former member of the Bowman Woman's Club. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pruitte Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Winn and Eddie Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Betty J. Foster, Monroe, and Charlotte J. Brown, Toccoa; a brother, Charles Boyce Johnson, Snellville; a sister, Joyce W. Brown, Hartwell; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be William R. Brown, Curtis W. Foster, Kevin Foster, Billy E. Smith Athens Camilla Corene Smith, of 170 Holmes Ave., died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1996. A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Paul and Odessa Smith. She was retired as a registered nurse having worked at St. Mary's Hospital and Athens Regional Medical Center. She was a member of East Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mack & Payne Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. James Kendrick and Winfred M. Hope officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family is at the residence. Alice S. Greemon Baldwin Alice Smith Greemon, 90, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1996. A native of Banks County, Mrs. Greemon was a daughter of the late Noah and Delie Nunnally Smith and widow of Arthur Loy Greemon. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Fred W. Greemon. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Whitfield Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Luther Williams officiating. A native of Rabun County, Mrs. Crunkleton was a daughter of the late John and Martha Jenkins Cannon and widow of Isaac Auston Crunkleton. She was a homemaker and a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Whitfield Funeral Home chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Harry Rudasill officiating. Crunkleton Jr., North Carolina, and Roy Crunkleton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Joel E. South Sr. Covington Joel Edwin South Sr., Hillside Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1996. A native of Stephens County, Mr. South was a son of the late Robert H. and Ophelia Purcell South. He was a member of Brownwood Baptist Church, Mableton, where he was a deacon and a member of the Adult Men's Bible class. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with the police department. He was preceded in death by a son, Joel Edwin South Jr. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Whitlock Mortuary, Toccoa, with the Rev. Ernest Ivester officiating.
