Banks, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1996. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, Mrs. Banks was a daughter of the late Alonzo and Mary Harris Marsingill and was the widow of Clinton C. Banks. She was retired from Empire Manufacturing Co., Winder, and was a member of Center United Methodist Church for 81 years. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Oscar Crosby officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Willene Williams, Hoschton; a son, the Rev. Myrtle Burnette Elberton Myrtle S. Burnette, 80, of Cobb Health Care Center died Friday, Dec. 13, 1996. A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Burnette was a daughter of the late Emory and Alice Carroll Sewell and was a widow of Roy Burnette. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara B. Simmons and Gladys B. Lunsford. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Elberton, and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Wade officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery, Elberton. Survivors include two sons, James H. He was a widower of Alice Knight German. He was a retired loan officer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Methodist and a member and past commander of VFW Post 2872.
