A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Cox was a son of the late Archie and Mae Willie Cox. He was retired from Central Soya (Seaboard Farms) and was a member of Thankful Baptist Church, Hutchins. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. H.L. Dotson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Harry Bell, Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Mattie M. Thomas and Geneva Darden, both of Athens; and nieces and nephews. Nomie Holman Danielsville Nomie Hooper Holman, 90, of Route 4, Box 4197, died Monday, Oct. 14, 1996. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Holman was a daughter of the late Madison and Nancy Jane Smith Hooper and the widow of William Fred Holman. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Brown Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include five sons, W.O. Holman and Larry Holman, both of Mableton, Alton Holman, Colbert, Buford Holman, Loganville, and Fred Jr. Holman, Danielsville; four daughters, Zelma Middlebrook and Talley Williams, both of Danielsville, Francine Exner, Newnan, and Joann Bayless, Cuba, Mo.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. The family is at the home of Larry Middlebrook, Holman-Autry Road, Danielsville. Vivian Donovan Jacksonville, Fla. Vivian Nadine Donovan, 80, formerly of Toccoa, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996. A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Donovan was a daughter of the late Samuel Lingle and Mildred Haskins Smart and the widow of Patrick E. Donovan. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Toccoa, with the Rev. Paul Flood officiating. Burial will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a son, Fletcher H. Seals, Jacksonville; a daughter, Margaret A. Knabb, Jacksonville; two stepsons, Jack Donovan and Tom Donovan; two brothers, Roy H. Smart, Miami, and Barney G. Smart, Lanexa, Va.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Whitlock Mortuary, Toccoa, is in charge of local arrangements. Polly Tate Statham Polly Tate, 79, died Monday, Oct. 14, 1996. A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Tate was a daughter of the late C.W. and Nora F. Wilson. She was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Ronnie Healan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include two sons, Doug Tate and Damon Tate, both of Winder; a brother, Herman Wilson, Gainesville; four sisters, Mary Lee Evans, Hoschton, Alma Brewer, Winder, Lottie Mae Tate, Cumming, and Newell Batchelor, Athens; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements. Samuel Flint Washington Samuel Flint, 74, of 105 Alabama St., died Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Flint was a son of the late Willie D. and Rose Etta Willis Flint. He was a cafe owner and a member of Twin Oak Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Twin Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Lamar Davenport officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Ben Flint, Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Creasy M. Williams, Philadelphia, and Juanita Woods, Washington; and seven grandchildren. Oscar Heard Jr. Elberton Oscar Heard Jr., of 1215 Limo Road, died Friday, Oct. 11, 1996. Mr. Heard was a son of the late Oscar Sr. and Sally Oglesby Heard. He was a member of Hall Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hall Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. William Habersham and Stanley Rucker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Sally McIntosh Heard; six daughters, Lillie Heard, Cincinnati, Emma Teasley and Brenda Heard, both of Athens, and Barbara Biggs, Sandra Heard and Martha Heard, all of Elberton; four sons, Marshall Heard, Wilford Heard and Samuel Heard, all of Elberton, and Jerry Heard, Augusta; two sisters, Ollie Mae Roebuck and Homerzell Webb, both of Elberton; and a brother, Bennie Frank Heard, Kentucky. Phelps Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Edmond J. Gragg Lula Edmond James Gragg, 80, of Silver Shoals Road, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 1996. A native of Rabun County, Mr. Gragg was a son of the late Burgess and Omie Smith Gragg. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy Ray Gragg and Amiel Burgess Gragg, and two daughters, Debbie Gragg and Robin Gragg. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired truck driver with Arrendale Farms. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Gragg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with graveside services conducted by Grant Reeves of VFW Post 7720. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Survivors include his wife, Beulah Brock Gragg; eight daughters, Rosa Lee Gailey, Lula, Carolyn Wood, Batesville, Louise Wilbanks, Commerce, Willene Garner, Cleveland, Shiryl Bradshaw and Rachel Jiminez, both of Baldwin, Louann Gardiner, Maysville, and Dottie Morris, Alto; two sons, Ricky Gragg, Alto, and Tony Gragg, Homer; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
