Hyder of 2620 Hodges Mill Road died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Hyder was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of American Legion Post No. 400, Snellville. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the mausoleum at Evergreen Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Merlon Hyder, Watkinsville; two daughters, Barbara Jean Devirgilio, Worthington, Ohio, and Linda Gore, Westview, Ohio; a brother, Lloyd Allen Hyder, Winterhaven, Fla.; a sister, Norma Faulk, Worthington, Ohio; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Kent Kramer Athens Kent William Kramer, 43, of 285 Cherokee Ridge died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996. A native of Ludlow, Mass., Mr. Kramer was a son of Gwendolyn Chamberlain, Light House Point, Fla. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas Kramer. He coached track and cross country at Athens Christian Academy. He was a member of the Institute of Financial Planners. He was the former pastor at Gathering Unto Him Church, Bradenton, Fla., and Promise Keepers. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the gymnasium of the academy with the Rev. Dean Sweetman officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Kathleen Roberts Kramer, Athens; four sons, Kalen Kramer, Kyle Kramer, Kristien Kramer and Kerry Kramer, all of Athens; and three sisters, Sandra Fogg, Rochester, N.H., Pam Yoeman, Louisville, Ky., and Lisa Chamberlain, West Palm Beach, Fla. Amelia Adkins Crawford Amelia Blanchard Adkins, 83, of 129 E. Spring St. died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996. A native of DeKalb County, Mrs. Adkins was a daughter of the late Mell and Annie Farrar Blanchard. She was a retired schoolteacher with Oglethorpe County and a member of the Retired Schoolteachers Association of Oglethorpe County. She was also a member of Crawford Baptist Church, WMU, Fidelis Sunday School Class and the Crawford Women's Club. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Antioch Baptist Cemetery, with the Revs. Terry Fleming and David Jordan officiating. Survivors include her husband, Oscar Hunter Adkins Jr.; two children, Tommy Adkins, Gainesville, and Mell Adkins, Greenville, S.C.; three sisters, Marion Roberts, Snellville, Elizabeth Blackshear, Decatur, and Sara Ellen Callaway, Lexington; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. William Parr Commerce William Howell Parr, 59, of Baxter Road died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996. A native of Banks County, Mr. Parr was a son of Clyde Parr and the late Inez James Parr. He was a meat cutter and a member of Deer Trail Country Club. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Hoyt Allen and Scott Hearn officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Harbin; and a granddaughter, Kelsey Harbin, Commerce. The family is at the residence. Richard Park Sr. Greensboro Richard Russell Park Sr., 85, of 602 S. Main St. died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996. A native of Greene County, Mr. Park was a son of the late Columbus Monroe Park and Blanche Ledbetter. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Daisy P. Swann. He was a veteran of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He attended Ridgegrove School. He was a lineman with Western Union and was a Mason, San Marino Lodge No. 34, Greensboro. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Walker United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Maeser officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery. Lanard Athens Marcile B. Lanard of 801 Riverhill Road died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996. A native of Athens, Mrs. Lanard was the widow of Louis E. Lanard. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Athens. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Gordon's Chapel, Madison County, with the Revs. Jerry Varnado and Grady Wigley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a son, Michael D. A native of Lavonia, Mr. Jackson was a son of the late Ernest P. and Clarice Bennett Jackson. He was a chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, having served in World War II and Korea with more than 10 medals and commendations. He was a former mayor and city judge of Lavonia and was a chairman of the city's planning commission and a justice of the peace. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 241 F and AM and Lavonia First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Chapel of Weldon Funeral Home with the Revs. Richard Bieleski and Al Price and Dr. Larry Finger officiating. Burial will be in Lavonia city cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Sara B. Jackson; three sons, Ernest P. Jackson III, Lavonia, Tim Jackson, Atlanta, and Jerry A. The family is at the home on Hartwell Road. William Holmes Macon William Holmes, 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Holmes was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Ross Chapel Baptist Church, Watkinsville. Survivors include a brother, George W. Holmes, Winder. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Wayman Andy Dahl Lavonia Wayman Andy Dahl, 75, of 640 Rue Cezzan died Monday, Oct. 14, 1996. A native of Kenedy, Texas, Mr. Dahl was a son of the late John P. Dahl and Nellie May Moye Dahl. He was a retired pilot, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of First Baptist Church, Lavonia. His funeral was Wednesday. Burial was in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Griffith Dahl; two daughters, Cynthia McComsey, Atlanta, and Patricia Dahl, Morrow; a son, Thomas Dahl, Hampton; a brother, Freeman P. Dahl, Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to the Mission Fund of the First Baptist Church of Lavonia.
