A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Coleman was a daughter of the late William Howlett and Lula Verner Irvin Howlett. She was a retired House Mother at Georgia State College for Women, Milledgeville. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the Community Presbyterian Church, Atlantic Beach, Fla. Graveside memorial services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elmhurst Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Maxfield officiating. Survivors include two daughters, Diane Osborne, Atlanta, and Pat Maxwell, Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Hicks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Agnes 'Whoot' Johnson Athens Agnes Marie "Whoot" Johnson, 41, of 472 Rolling Ridge, Building 17, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1996. Miss Johnson was a daughter of the late Robert Johnson and Vallie Ree Johnson. Funeral services are at 4 p.m. Saturday at Hill Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Abraham Mosely officiating. Burial is in Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery, Bogart. The body will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Survivors include four sister, Bernice Johnson, Othadella Johnson, Candies Heard and Mary Heard, all of Athens; two brothers, Tommy Heard and Steve Heard, both of Athens; and nieces and nephews. Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Annie Jean Washington Athens Annie Jean Foote Washington, 51, of 242 Park Ridge Drive, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996. A native of Oglethorpe County, Miss Washington was a daughter of Annie B. Foote, Athens, and the late James C. Foote. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, West, with the Revs. Charlie Maddox and Kenneth Elder officiating. Burial is in East Lawn Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a daughter, Stephanie Washington, Stone Mountain; a son, Bryan Allen Washington, Athens; a sister, Cheryl Foote, Athens; four brothers, Jimmy Foote, Athens, Gonzales Foote, Stone Mountain, and Larry Foote and Reginald Foote, Athens; and a grandchild. A native of Oconee County, Mr. Parsons was a son of the late Chester O. Parsons and Lona Bell Smith Parsons. He attended the University of Georgia and was in the family business of Parsons Restaurant. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oconee Memorial Park, Watkinsville, with the Rev. Dan Fuller officiating. Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Belle Parsons; a daughter, Denise Melton, Watkinsville; two sons, Tim Parsons, Bogart, and Rodney Parsons, Eatonton; a sister, Colette Harben, Watkinsville; a brother, Ed Parsons, Watkinsville; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Arthur Bowick's Oconee Chapel, Watkinsville. James Roles Bishop James E. Roles, 67, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1996. A native of Lego, W. Va., Mr. Roles was a son of the late Earl Roles and Lydia Prince Roles. He was a paving contractor and was retired from Ballenger Company. He was a member of Bishop United Methodist Church where he was on the Administrative Board. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Arthur Bowick's Oconee Chapel, Watkinsville, with the Rev. Mike McLemore officiating. Burial will be in Oconee Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Mary Meadows Roles; two daughters, Sandy Waldrip, Athens, and Cindy Roles, Augusta; a sister Mary Elizabeth Ginestra, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and a grandchild. Brown Sr., of 1062 Riverside Drive, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 1996. A native of Burke County, Mr. Brown was a son of the late Jacob Brown and Darcus Brown. Mr. Brown was Deacon of Ebenezer Baptist Church, West, Athens. He was a former Chairman of Deacon Board of First Baptist Church, Millen. He was a principal in Jenkins County. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, West, with the Rev. Winfred M. Hope officiating. Burial is in New Millen Cemetery, Millen. Survivors include a daughter, Marcia Lowe, Ft. Benning; a son, Dr. James L. Brown Jr., Athens; a sister, Lillie M. Brown, Athens; a brother, Leroy A. Brown Sr., Augusta; and four grandchildren. A native of Clarke County, Mr. Devlin was a son of Rosa Barnett, Athens, and the late John Lewis Devlin. He was a member of Hills Chapel Baptist. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Willis Chapel of Mack And Payne Funeral Home, with the Revs. Charlie Maddox and Service Hurst officiating. Burial is in East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
