J. Roy Everett Winder The Rev. J. Roy Everett, 66, of 33 Richardson St., died Sunday, Aug. 18, 1996. A native of Barrow County, the Rev. Everett was a son of the late Raymond and Maude Page Everett. He was the pastor of Solid Rock Baptist Church for the past five years, and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Solid Rock Baptist Church with the Revs. Truman Humphries, Ollie V. Hayes and Rickey Tuggle officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Emma Mangum Everett; a daughter, Jane Wheeler, Winder; three brothers, Charlie Everett and Grady Everett, both of Winder, and Eldridge Everett, Statham; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Wise-Connolly Funeral Home. Joe E. Babb Commerce Joe Edward Babb, 76, of 257 E. Ridgeway Road, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 1996. Mr. Babb was a son of the late Joe Emory and Mattie Babb. He was a Chief Scout Executive, Boy Scouts of America. He was a decorated U.S. Navy World War II veteran, and a survivor of Pearl Harbor. He was a member of Galilee Christian Church, Jefferson. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at Galilee Christian Church with the Rev. Tom Plank officiating. Burial will be in Bogart Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Edna R. Babb; a daughter, Linda Elaine Jensen, Tampa, Fla.; three sons, Joe Edward Babb Jr. and Martin Richard Babb, both of Commerce, and Larry Eugene Babb, Jefferson; and six grandchildren.
