English Union Point James Roy English, 58, of Country Club Drive died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996. A native of Taliaferro County, Mr. English was a son of Sarah Edwards English Copelan and the late Henry R. English and a stepson of Hamp Coleman of Union Point. He was a retired service station owner, an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of First Baptist Church of Union Point. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Cemetery with the Rev. David Key officiating. Survivors, in addition to his mother and stepfather, include his wife, Peggy Stewart English; a son, Jim English, Milledgeville; a daughter, Jennifer English, Milledgeville; a brother, Dewitt English, Desoto, Texas; and a sister, Betty E. Rice, Hull. Pallbearers will be Rusty Rice, Steve Rice, Bill Norris, Stewart Norris, Chad Wilkes and Matthew Wilkes. Claudie Looney Jefferson Claudie Looney, 75, of Winder Highway died Monday, Nov. 18, 1996. A native of Madison County, Mr. Looney was a son of the late Otha and Mattie Crowder Looney and the widower of Lillie Bell Brown Looney. He was retired from Jefferson Mills and was of the Holiness faith. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dennis Kesler and Kenneth Law officiating.
