A lifelong resident of Athens, Mr. Maxwell was a son of the late Sam and Lucy Barnette Maxwell and the widower of Gussie Bates Maxwell. He was a self-employed salesman and also worked as a security guard at Athens Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. A lifelong resident of Clarke County, she was a daughter of the late Estella and Charlie Springs. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at New Dorsey Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Lucille Reece Marietta Martha Lucille Burton Roberts Reece, 94, of 3550 Trickum Road died Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996, at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center, Royston. A native of Cobb County, Mrs. Reece was a daughter of the late James Emmett and Louella Florence Reeves Burton. She was the widow of Fred Roberts and E.A. "Ardel" Reece. She was preceded in death by four children, George, Fred and Julian Roberts, and Ella Batchelor. She was a homemaker and taught at Mount Harmony School, Cobb County.
