Nettie Martin Greensboro Nettie Louise Edwards Martin, 87, of 1171 Old Bethany Road died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996. A native of Gordon County, Mrs. Martin was a daughter of the late Martin F. Edwards and the Ivey Pickard and the widow of Summie Clyde Martin. She was a homemaker and a member of Centennial Christian Church, White Plains. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Cornell was a son of the late Henry G. and Fannie Mae Seymour Cornell. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Cornell and Dr. Ronald Cornell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of the school board. He was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church where he was a deacon. A native of Armstrong, Mo., Dr. Budd was a son of the Rev. John W. and Susie Clark Budd. He graduated from Duke University with two bachelor's degrees and later received an honorary doctorate from LaGrange College. He was active in efforts to support the elderly and youthful offenders. He was named to the National Hall of Philanthropy by the Methodist Church. He was a former superintendent of Atlanta Marietta District of the United Methodist Church as well as serving as pastor to seven churches at different times. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Atlanta, with Drs. Robert Bowling, W. Lawrence Minnix Jr. and E. Malone Dodson officiating. Clarke, 69, of 455 Somerset Drive died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996. A native of Meridian, Miss., Mr. Clarke was a son of the late Alvin and Mamie Blakely Clarke. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and a retired professor in the school of Religion and Philosophy. He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Athens.
