The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Hazel Combs Washington Hazel Wheless Combs, 83, of 822 Berkshire Drive, died Monday, Oct. 21, 1996. A native of Wilkes County, Mrs. Combs was a daughter of the late Carswell V. and Julia Rousey Wheless. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Tignall Independence United Methodist Church. A lifelong resident of Athens, Mr. Prather was a son of the late James Cleo and Addie Smallwood Prather. He was a retired stock room manager for the University of Georgia chemistry department and a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. We were blessed as a family by the grace of God to have had such a wonderful, loving and caring husband, father and friend in our lives. You will be missed but not forgotten. Eugene Kinkade Dewy Rose Eugene Edwin Kinkade, 73, of 2265 Horse Farm Road, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 1996. A native of Olney, Ill., Mr. Kinkade was a son of the late George S. Sr. and Esther Kinkade. He was retired as a Nike rocket engineer for the U.S. government. He was an Army veteran, having served in the European Theater in World War II and receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a Mason and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Illinois. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Survivors include his wife, Lititia Hope Gresthel Kinkade; a daughter, Mary Hornbeck, Nashville, Tenn.; and a brother, Charles Kinkade, Maryland.
