Rives Decatur Davis Broadnax Rives, 94, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 1996. A native of Austin, Texas, Mr. Rives was the widower of Theresa Mulhearn Rives. He was a graduate of the University of Texas and an Army veteran of World War II. He was the founder of Rives, Massey and Hedges insurance agency in Atlanta and was a president of the Georgia Insurance Fieldman's Association and the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association. He was a member of the Jefferson Rotary Club and St. Thomas Moore Parish, Decatur. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Decatur Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Robert A. Tarkenton Athens Frances Mae Tarkenton, 84, of 100 Wexford Place died Friday, Nov. 22, 1996. A native of Howardville, Va., Mrs. Tarkenton was the widow of Dr. Dallas M. Tarkenton Sr. She was a graduate of Holmes Theological Seminary, Greenville, S.C., and Georgia College, Milledgeville. She taught school in Newton County and at Athens Academy. She was an author and lecturer and a member of First United Methodist Church, Athens.
