A native of Wilkes County, Ms. Colley was a daughter of the late Edd and Rachel Ware. She was a member of New Dorsey Tabernacle Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at New Dorsey Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. H.L. Dotson officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Marshall, Athens; two sisters, Mary Emma Davis and Roberta Bell, both of Washington; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Hurley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Walter J. Burpee Sr. Athens Walter J. Burpee Sr., 88, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1996. A lifelong resident of Clarke County, Mr. Burpee was a son of the late Robert A. and Lou Ellen Pitts Burpee and the widower of Nellie M. Burpee. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of First Baptist Church, where he attended the Forum Sunday school class. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Oconee Hill Cemetery with Dr. Jon Appleton officiating. Survivors include a daughter, Jennie B. Parham, Athens; a son, Walter J. Burpee Jr., Cumming; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 12:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East. Willie Lou Wofford Jefferson Willie Lou Whitlock Wofford, 77, of 15 Danielsville St. died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1996. A native of Hall County, Mrs. Wofford was a daughter of the late J.J. and Lillie Covington Whitlock and the widow of Ray O. Wofford. She was a cloth inspector and a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Jefferson, with the Revs. Jeff Benefield and Gerald Mitton officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ray Hooper, Jefferson; three sons, Randall Wofford, Flowery Branch, Danny Wofford, Winder, and the Rev. A native of Barrow County, Mr. Steed was a son of the late John N. and Naomi W. Steed. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Steed. He was retired from Massey's Food Store and was a member of First United Methodist Church. A native of Wilkes County, Mr. Bradford was a son of Jo Anne Bradford of Augusta and Tommy and Claudia Bradford of Washington. He was a retail manager for Phar-Mor Corp. and a member of Danburg Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Washington-Wilkes Memorial Garden with the Revs. Dennis Garner and Ficklen Guin officiating. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Deidre Saylors Bradford; a son, Harry Thomas Bradford IV, Washington; two brothers, Scott Bradford, Washington, and Andy Bradford, Elberton; a sister, Bristol Bradford, Washington; his paternal grandfather, Harry Bradford, Tignall; and his maternal grandparents, Clayton and Bobbie Temple of Virginia Beach, Va. Kyle Wilhite Elberton Kyle Daniel Wilhite, 16, of 1307 Fairway Drive died Sunday, Oct. 20, 1996. A native of Elbert County, Mr. Wilhite was a son of J. Tom and Connie Daniel Wilhite of Elberton. He he was a student at Elbert County Comprehensive High School and a member of Elberton First Baptist Church. Funeral services were at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Elberton First Baptist Church with Dr. Jack Jackson officiating. Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two brothers, Clint Wilhite and Reid Wilhite, both of Elberton; and three grandparents, E.E. Daniel and Rachel Greenway, both of Elberton, and Jane Adams Wilhite, Elberton. Pallbearers were Josh Wilhite, Mark Harper, Forrest Daniel, Keith Harper, Sterling Daniel and Brady Sigler. Olga Chortyk Athens Olga Chortyk, 86, died Monday, Oct. 21, 1996. A native of Romania, Mrs. Chortyk was a daughter of the late Hedwiga and Theofil Hnidey and the widow of John Chortyk. She was a postal employee and telegraph operator in her youth in Romania. In America, she was a seamstress and a homemaker. Funeral services will be Saturday in St. Andrews Ukrainian Cemetery, South Bound Brook, N.J. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, with the Rev. Bill Lakin officiating. Survivors include a son, Dr. Orester T. Chortyk; and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends after the prayer service at the funeral home. Pauline Jones Hull Mabel Pauline Jones, 82, of 194 Jones Road died Monday, Oct. 21, 1996. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Willie R. and Elsie Mathews Bullock and the widow of Grover L. Jones. She was a cafeteria worker at Colbert Elementary and was retired from University of Georgia Food Services. She was a member of Hull Baptist Church, where she attended Homemakers Sunday school class. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Weebie Ann Stamps, Decatur, Ala.; three sons, Buddy Jones, Grover L. Jones and Oscar Paul Jones, all of Hull; a sister, Ina Mae Tate, Athens; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
